In todays society, it is widely accepted that nearly everything we do is recorded in some way or another. Be it though the apps we enable access to our phone, or through cameras placed by the concerned business owners and law enforcement. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
With technology forever improving, it's not a unusual to feel uncomfortable or concerned with the way it's going. When will enough be enough? We have the matter of personal privacy. Now, nobody is forcing you to wear a camera, or hide cameras in your own home. What you do in the privacy of your own home is up to you. To ensure your privacy a little more you just have to be careful what electrical appliances you have installed within your home and read what apps ask for access to on your device. But there are anti surveillance devices available on the market today which enable you to locate hidden lenses and also pick up unusual electrical frequencies within your home. Even when you're looking for privacy, technology again comes to the rescue.
In our modern age, we're seeing huge improvements in small device capabilities, it seems all the technology companies want to do is increase power, and make things smaller. With these advances, comes cameras and listening devices being able to hide in plain sight more and more. But personally, i don't feel this is a bad thing. If you're not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about, right? Covert cameras have a wide variety of uses, for example. if you were walking through the 'wrong end' of town, but you had a camera recording your every step, sending GPS location back to a 'central hub' would you feel more secure? I would imagine so. Just having the piece of mind that if anything happens you have video evidence and a location. The culprit will be caught on video which will inevitably lead to a much easier investigation for law enforcement. There are cameras available today that can see in lower light than the human eye.
Not everyone is going to see eye to eye on this matter, but as generations pass it'll become more and more 'normal' within the world. Could we become a full blown 'Big Brother' society?
